At-home pet euthanasia

From $350 — a peaceful goodbye, at home

When the time comes, Dr Mustafa comes to you — so your pet's final moments are spent somewhere they feel safe, surrounded by the people they know, without the cost or stress of an emergency clinic.

$350 covers the home visit, euthanasia, and home burial guidance · cremation available at extra cost

If you're reading this page, you're probably exhausted, frightened, and carrying a decision that feels impossible. That's completely normal, and you're not making it alone.

Home euthanasia means your pet doesn't have to make one last stressful car trip to an unfamiliar room. Instead, Dr Mustafa comes to your door, takes the time the moment deserves, and helps your pet pass peacefully on their own bed, in your arms, or wherever they're most comfortable.

Not sure if it's time

If you're still deciding, that's okay too

Many families call simply to talk it through. There's no pressure to book anything — Dr Mustafa is happy to help you think about your pet's quality of life first.

A few honest questions that often help:

  • Are there more bad days than good days lately?
  • Can your pet still enjoy the small things — food, a sunny spot, your company?
  • Is pain or breathlessness present most of the time, even with medication?
  • Would more treatment meaningfully improve their comfort, or only extend time?

If you'd like, Dr Mustafa can talk through your pet's specific situation over the phone before you decide anything.

How the visit unfolds

What to expect, step by step

Knowing what's coming can take away some of the fear of the unknown. Here's how a home euthanasia visit with Dr Mustafa typically goes.

1

You call, any time

Same-day appointments are usually possible. Dr Mustafa will ask a few gentle questions about your pet so he comes prepared with the right equipment and dosing.

2

We choose a quiet time together

You pick the room, the bedding, who's present — even whether other pets in the home should be there. This is entirely led by what feels right for your family.

3

A gentle sedative first

In almost every case, your pet is given a sedative injection first. This lets them settle, become sleepy and free of anxiety, while you have as much time as you need beside them.

4

The final injection

Once your pet is fully relaxed, a second injection gently stops the heart. It isn't painful — most pets simply seem to fall into a deeper sleep. Dr Mustafa confirms they've passed peacefully before stepping back to give you space.

5

No rush afterward

You're welcome to spend as long as you need with your pet. When you're ready, Dr Mustafa will help arrange aftercare based on what you've chosen.

Afterward

Aftercare options

There's no single right choice here — only what feels most meaningful to your family. Dr Mustafa can arrange any of the following, or simply leave you to make your own plans.

Private cremation

Your pet is cremated individually and their ashes returned to you, usually within one to two weeks, in an urn or scatter box.

Communal cremation

A lower-cost option where pets are cremated together and ashes are not returned, often handled respectfully through a local pet crematorium.

Home burial

Some families prefer to bury their pet at home. Dr Mustafa can talk you through council guidelines for backyard burial in your area.

Prefer private or communal cremation instead? It's available at an additional cost — pricing depends on your pet's size, so just ask Dr Mustafa when you call.
